A waterproofing company run by a Wiltshire couple has been recognised by a national trade body.

Walker and Walker Waterproofing Ltd was named Contractor of the Year in the Structural Waterproofing category for small to medium businesses by the Property Care Association.

The PCA presents Contractor of the Year’ awards to members based on their annual audit.

Walker and Walker Waterproofing Ltd – known as W3 – specialises in large commercial build basements.

The company was founded by husband and wife team, Emily and Andrew Walker, both graduates of the world-renowned Camborne School of Mines in Cornwall.

Two years ago, W3 was presented with a PCA award for Best New Member Application.

Emily said: “We feel enormously proud that the efforts of all of the team have been recognised in this way – it’s a really prestigious award.

“We do everything to the highest standard –do it once and do it right.

"It is this philosophy which runs through everything we do, and we’re delighted this has been recognised by the PCA.”

Steve Hodgson, the PCA's chief executive, said: “This year has been challenging for people both professionally and personally, which is why it is important that we recognise the talent and skills within our industry.

“I’d like to personally congratulate the team at W3 for the professionalism and quality service that is recognised with this award.”
