Leisure centres in Wiltshire are preparing to open as early as April as the council reviews the latest Covid guidance.

According to the government’s roadmap to bring England out of lockdown restrictions, leisure centres can open for indoor activity no earlier than April 12.

In order to open up to customers again leisure centres will be subject to four tests set out by the government.

In the run up to restrictions lifting the council is reviewing the latest guidance ahead of reopening its leisure facilities.

Cabinet member for leisure, Ian Blair-Pilling said: “We’re pleased to see the recent government announcement for easing lockdown restrictions over the coming months. We very much look forward to welcoming people back into our facilities as soon as government guidance allows.”

The local authority said more details on the safe reopening of leisure centres soon via its website and social media.

“Thank you to everyone for their patience and ongoing support, and we look forward to seeing you back at our facilities soon,” added Cllr Blair-Pilling.
