It was a family affair for Adam Weal in his gruelling fundraiser for the police dog charity WAGS.
His 50-mile challenge took place over five overcast days in the paths and streets in his village of Yatton Keynell, near Chippenham.
He was accompanied by sprockers Lily and Willow for the full distance, while daughter Evie Weal also totted up 10 miles over the course of the week.
Adam said: "I've been passionate about police dogs my whole life, really. About three years ago I responded to an appeal for more space for dogs to train in, and I volunteered my work place.
"I got to know the handlers quite well, and when I heard about WAGs I wanted to help. The walk was good fun, but we had a lot of tough rainy days. It was an absolute mud bath at points, ankle deep!
"The village have done brilliantly to support me and raise awareness of the charity."
WAGS was set up to improve the lives of retired police dogs from Wiltshire, Avon and Somerset and Gloucestershire Police. It's not currently possible to get insurance cover for the large retired police dogs.
What's more, the smaller dogs that have insurance may have exclusions for injuries they may have sustained whilst working. Retired police dogs don't receive any ongoing financial support from police forces which can lead to costly bills for their handlers or new adopters.
WAGS has lost out on its traditional fundraising due to the cancellation of events across the region, so have thanked Adam for his challenge, which raised near to £800.
He added: "The charity is reliant entirely on fundraising, and I would encourage anyone who wants to support them to come forward
"We're a nation of dog lovers. These dogs protected us during their work, so now it's our turn to protect them in the remainder of their lives."
