THE Theatre Royal Bath is busy preparing to welcome audience members back into its three auditoria in line with the government’s roadmap for re-opening in May 2021.

Danny Moar, director of the Theatre Royal Bath, said: “Following the Prime Minister’s announcement last week and the setting out of the roadmap for easing lockdown, we are now finalising plans for a season of exciting productions to take place from May through the summer, which will be announced later in March.

“Even while our doors remain closed we have been working behind the scenes to ensure we will be ready to reopen again at the earliest possible opportunity.

“The overwhelming success of our Welcome Back season in the autumn and The Play That Goes Wrong at Christmas have shown that theatregoing can be both safe and thoroughly enjoyable. We will continue to operate with socially distanced seating until we are able to return to full capacity.

“We thank audiences for the support they have shown the Theatre Royal Bath over these challenging months and look forward to welcoming theatregoers back in the near future.”

The Theatre Royal managed to stage 75 live performances between October and December 2020 after lockdown restrictions were eased. The Theatre Royal Bath live-streamed Toby Thompson’s award-winning I Wish I Was A Mountain on February 15 for audiences to enjoy on screen at home.

In the meantime, TRB is joining with world-famous dance company, Rambert, in April to livestream their latest work, Rooms, a new live event created by Jo Strømgren.

Theatre Royal Bath audiences can watch this world premiere production as it happens live-streamed into ticket holders homes.

A unique mix of dance, theatre and film which features 17 dancers playing 100 characters across 35 scenes, the run of four performances will take place from Thursday, April 8 to Sunday, April 11.
