Trowbridge school receives 18 digital devices for pupils thanks to kind donations from one street.

Holbrook Primary School has been given 18 laptops and tablets from the residents of Clarendon Road.

The pastoral manager at Holbrook, Nicola Roberts, said: “It started because someone had an extra tablet they didn’t need and they were donating on a local group.

“Someone from the school knew people on Clarendon Road and they then decided to help Holbrook School.”

Over the course of a week, residents brought laptops and Kindles, and one even bought a brand new device to donate.

“One of the residents then decided he was going to donate money with some of the other residents and raised £200,” Mrs Roberts added.

“This enabled us to buy two more tablets for the children and then, on top of that, another resident spoke to the head office at QinetiQ to see if they would donate anything.

“They donated and set up 10 Chromebooks. It’s just been so lovely and we’re so grateful because it’s made such a difference to the children at Holbrook.

“We have all been amazed at the kindness and generosity shown by Clarendon Road, what a wonderful community gesture. Thank you for supporting our school.”
