PICTURESQUE Castle Combe has been listed as one of the top places in the UK to live and work from home in a new survey.

With almost 46.6 per cent of people in employment completing some work at home throughout April 2020 and 24 per cent of employees working remotely as of October 2020, a productive and inviting workspace is increasingly important to those workers adapting to the new nine to five. With that in mind, self-catering accommodation company Sweetcombe Cottage Holidays, from Sidmouth in East Devon, has found the best UK views that make working from home feel like a holiday abroad.

Castle Combe comes in a number three behind Dartmouth in the South Hams and Cambridge, with Port Isaac in North Cornwall and the Georgian city of Bath also making the top five.

Castle Combe has been titled the UK's prettiest village due to its location in the Cotswolds Area of Outstanding Natural Beauty.

Those working from home can enjoy views across fairy-tale-like stone cottages made up of honey-coloured Cotswold stone.

This has led to Castle Combe being chosen as a film location for several blockbuster movies such as Stardust (2007) and War Horse (2011).

Nestled by the edge is Bybrook River, which is perfect for a post-work stroll for those looking for a quintessentially British location with chocolate- box appeal.

The company said: "With more and more people working at home, it’s so important to be in a space that makes you motivated and positive."
