Bins collections likely disrupted today following a weekend of winter weather.

In a tweet Wiltshire Council said its waste and recycling collection would likely be disrupted today due to icy conditions.

However, the local authority asked residents to still leave bins out, adding: “We will attempt to revisit as soon as possible.

“You do not need to report your missed bin.”

Wiltshire’s winter fleet spread over 1,000 tonnes of grit over the weekend as the county was hit by ice and snow.

The council’s 24-strong gritter convoy, which where given names like Sault T Road, Sir David Attenbrrrr, Buzz Saltyear and Grit Happens by members of the public, laid down tonnes of grit to keep the roads safe as temperatures dropped and Wiltshire was blanketed by snow.
