TEACHERS and families at the Oasis Academy Primary School in Trowbridge have really risen to the challenge of lockdown learning this week.
School principal Helen Adams says the Longmeadow team have been offering three live lessons a day via TEAMs to each child and also a live storytime session every day in every class.
She added: “We have had an absolutely amazing response from children and parents.
“Ninety per cent of our children have taken part so far and parents have told us how much they enjoying connecting with their friends and seeing their teachers in these lessons.
“We know that there are lots of challenges for families, especially if siblings are trying to share a device.
“We have staggered our lesson times and have also distributed ipads and laptops to families who do not have the equipment they need.
“Our teaching assistants and office staff have been manning the phones to help families with any initial teething problems.”
“Children have been really keen to learn and behaving beautifully. They have produced some fantastic work.
“We are still able to award House points remotely for great effort and achievement using class Dojo online platform and we will be having our usual Friday assembly live and awarding our learner of the week awards.”
