A West Lavington man has hit out at “disgusting” mould that has crept throughout his home.

Trevor Feltham lives on Sandfield, in a home owned by housing association Aster.

He’s lived in the property for seven years and has now lost patience with the upkeep of the property.

Mould, damp and condensation have spread across the kitchen walls and floor. He has now pleaded to Aster to fufill, what he says, have been multiple promises to come out and re-purpose the kitchen to combat the problem.

He said: “”It’s not always been this bad when we first moved in, but it’s got gradually worse.

“Whenever it’s cold it really creeps in and it’s terrible now.

“We’ve tried to clean it but it just keeps coming back so it’s an issue with the house itself. It’’s getting to be a real health concern now and I’m disgusted at it.

“The first surveyor that came in said it was condensation, while the last two that came in said it was damp.”

He added: “We aren’t allowed to do any decorating, so we’re waiting on Aster to come and do something, anything, to make it go away.”

A spokeswoman from Aster had provided the following response.

She said: "We are sorry to hear of our customer’s concerns and do understand their frustration.

“One of our surveyors has arranged with our customer to visit their home on Wednesday morning (06.01.21) to investigate the matter further and we will continue to work with them to address the issue.”
