A popular Wiltshire event has been cancelled due to new lockdown restrictions.
The Devizes Eisteddfod Committee's attempt to run the Dance Festival in February has been scuppered by the pandemic.
The event typically showcases performances of ballet, tap, modern, classical and cabaret styles from dancers across the country.
It had been hoped to carry the Dance Festival over to the New Year, having already cancelled last November’s Music, Speech and Drama and Festival.
Devizes Eisteddfod Director, Michael Johnson said: ‘We are so sorry to have to cancel our Eisteddfod dance classes in this, our 72nd year."
He confirmed that participants would be contacted individually and that the costs incurred in entering the numerous classes would be refunded.
Details about the Music, Speech and Drama classes, which are scheduled to be held in late November, can be found on the Devizes Eisteddfod web site, together with upcoming concerts, together with the Dance Festival dates which are scheduled for February 2022.
Mr Johnson added: ‘We hope that the plans we have made for the 2021 Devizes Eisteddfod can be kept!"
