LOCAL author Julian Carosi has just published his fourth book on the history of Corsham.

Corsham Revealed Now and Then follows on from the success and the interest shown in his trilogy of A4-size Corsham Revealed books.

They are Corsham Revealed published in 2018, Corsham Revealed More in 2019, and Corsham Revealed Three in early 2020.

Corsham Revealed Now and Then continues exploring the hidden and long forgotten history of Corsham.

Inside, you will find more hidden, long-forgotten and sometimes mysterious historical snippets of Corsham covering 100 different aspects of Corsham compared over many years.

Mr Carosi, 68, Williams Grove, said: "This is achieved by providing pairs of old and new photographs accompanied with a small amount of respective text to show just how much Corsham has changed or conversely, how little it has changed over the ensuing years."

The image on the front cover taken by Mr Carosi in May 2014 of Corsham High Street during the filming of the popular BBC TV series Poldark in the town.

To gather the information, Mr Carosi spent many hours reading, rummaging in the archives at the Wiltshire and Swindon History Centre in Chippenham, researching on the internet, purchasing historical books, postcards and maps, and even more hours walking around Corsham.

The last effort in putting the book together required six months of sifting through the huge amount of material collected and then piecing it all together.

Mr Carosi's new book is dedicated to all those who have lived in Corsham. A limited number of around 1,000 copies have been printed at £10 each.

All of Julian's books, including his new one, are available from Mr Carosi on 01249 714552 or email juliancarosi@corshamref.org.uk, online at eBay and Amazon (search for Corsham Revealed), or delivered locally via Corsham Bookshop (tel Janet on 01249 715988).
