Police officers were called to Corsham Primary School early this morning, after receiving reports that Santa had crashed his sleigh next to the building.

Les Fletcher and Shaun Redmond and Toni Brown, from the Corsham Neighbourhood Policing team, have jumped into action and enlisted local pupils to help in their search for his missing reindeer.

Father Christmas has been described as "plump" and is thought to be wearing red.

Wiltshire Police have said: “The reindeer are known to have run off being chased by Father Christmas, anyone with information please contact the school.”

Corsham Police need as much help as possible in tracing the reindeer – and Father Christmas has even released a press release alongside Mrs Christmas.

He said: “My reindeer and I were doing our fact finding mission over your lovely town and they were pulling the sleigh rather wonderfully, when something went awry with the sleigh’s control system and we ended up crash landing – outside your school as you will have seen by now.

“This would have been fine, but in the kerfuffle my reindeer all bolted in fright.”

The Wiltshire Gazette and Herald:

Father Christmas has made plans to stay in Corsham until he can find all his reindeer – and has asked the children of Corsham Primary to do all they can to help.
