ENGLAND Rugby asked teams around the country to donate their shirts to be displayed in Twickenham Stadium during the men's Quilter Internationals.

Over 300 rugby shirts decorated the stadium and one of them belonged to Royal Wootton Bassett Rugby Football Club.

It featured on Autumn Nations Cup on Amazon Prime while BBC presenters Topsy Ojo and Ross Harries sat beside it.

The club chairman, Chris Elias, said: "It was like a tribute to the fans who weren't able to be there in person to watch. We sent our shirt off and luckily it got featured on the television and on Facebook, it was great.

"Not many members knew that the jersey was there so the fact they got to see it on TV it was a great boost for them, they were all proud.

"It was absolutely marvellous to see one of our own do so well at Twickenham while our shirt was in the stadium, it was a great game between England and Ireland two weekends ago."

Jonny May played rugby in Royal Wootton Bassett since he was five before moving up and playing for Gloucester and England as a winger.

England Rugby are wanting as many shirts as possible to be donated before the final fixture on December 6.

"I think it's a great idea, it's a great way to engage with the members and the community at this time," Chris said.
