Christian Malford pilates teacher Susie Chambers and her husband Neil have been reunited with their good friend Woody Bach.
Woody Bach is the Christmas tree the couple have hired for a second year from the nearby Chippenham Pit Stop for truckers and the local community. Woody and over ninety of his potted tree ‘friends’ have spent the last twelve months growing on at a Gloucestershire nursery before being returned to the Pit Stop to be hired out again
“It was good being reunited with Woody, who hadn’t grown much but we felt that by having him back we were making a small contribution to the environment,” said Susie.
David Hatherell, managing director of the Pit Stop which presents complimentary Christmas trees to all the surrounding village schools said most of the potted trees had now been hired already.
He added: “With millions of cut, and even worse, plastic trees, going into landfill every year, just think how environmentally friendly it would be if the hire of potted spruces became a national tradition."
