Inspired by the many rainbows people put in their windows during the first lockdown, Sheep Street Baptist Church have come up with a Covid proof idea of sharing the Christmas message of joy and hope.

For the previous few years the church has held an event where hand-crafted scenes and decorations are used in the church to tell the Christmas story - even live sheep and donkeys have been drafted in.

This year this can't happen, but not to be defeated by the virus the church is using it's noticeboards as the windows in an advent calendar. 24 hand-made decorations have been made and turned into stunning posters.

Every day a new poster will be revealed, every item is made from readily available materials and the instructions are also on the posters. Alongside that all the residents of Sheep Street will receive a leaflet with instructions for all 24 items and it is hoped that as many as possible will get involved using the ideas as inspiration to also decorate their windows and homes with the joyful Christmas story.

To get involved details are available on the church website www.sheepstreet.org.uk
