A new three-day Christmas Market is coming to Trowbridge on December 18-20.

It will take place in the historic buildings at the Innox Mills development which will be opened to the public for the first time in over a decade.

Organised by the Innox Mills site owners in partnership with The Anonymous Travelling Market, the Christmas Market will offer a wide selection of products.

They will include artisan gifts, local ales and spirits, plus decorations, holly wreaths and Christmas trees. Refreshments will include street food, spiced cider and mulled wine, with live music adding to the festive atmosphere.

The market will run on Friday, December 18 from 9am-9pm; Saturday December 19 from 9am-6pm, and Sunday, December 20 from 9am-4pm.

As well as the Grade 2-listed Innox Mills building, the Christmas Market will take place in the 19th century former dye house, brewery and cloth factory.

This will be the first time the public has had access to these spaces since 2009.

Social distancing measures will be in place at the event to protect visitors and stallholders, including a one-way system.

Jonathan Dean, director of Innox Mills, said: “The Christmas Market is a great opportunity to allow visitors a look inside some of the historic buildings here as we progress our plans to create a vibrant new quarter in Trowbridge.

“The historic architecture will add to the rustic, festive atmosphere of the event, where visitors can pick up gifts and decorations while supporting local businesses.

"With other Christmas markets in the area cancelled this year, we’re keen to provide a good day out and give people the chance to see more of what this new quarter will have to offer.”

The Christmas Market is the latest in a number of initiatives organised to support the Innox Mills development, with future plans including a potential beer festival, outdoor cinema and comedy shows.

Mr Dean added: “Social space will play a major role in the new development and we’re looking forward to announcing more initiatives in 2021.

There are also plans to continue to grow the popular Innox Market into the New Year, which takes place on the third Sunday of each month.

Options are also being explored to move the Innox Market into the buildings that will house the Christmas Market along with a street food courtyard and added seating.

The market is visited safely by around 3,000 people each month and features handmade arts and crafts and vintage clothing, plus street food, fresh produce and local craft spirits, ciders and ales. Entertainment includes live music and a trampoline activity for children.

Confirmed dates for the Innox Market in 2021 are on January 17, February 21 and March 21.
