A WOMAN ended her life while staying as a guest in Bradford on Avon, an inquest in Salisbury was told on Tuesday.

Sarah Marie Crossley, 36, was found dead at an address in Winsley Road, Bradford on Avon, on May 12 after taking a chemical compound.

Wiltshire area coroner Ian Singleton gave a verdict of suicide due to poisoning, saying that on the balance of probabilities Miss Crossley had intended to take her own life.

The opening inquest on August 24 was told that she had telephoned her sister saying she intended to commit suicide.

The sister called emergency services at 9.20pm and police attended the address but found her lifeless on the bedroom floor.

The inquest heard that she was unemployed and single and had recently moved to Bradford on Avon from Cambridgeshire.

The inquest was also told that Miss Crossley had contact with mental health services.

The cause of death was given as sodium nitrate.
