The Bike Treads journey is an exciting one. It started as a family business in 1987 fitting tyres for the many motorcycle couriers and riders that would have been buzzing around on the roads of that era. Many years later, the business grew in both size and technical ability, becoming a full motorcycle service centre and being recognised as a specialist motorcycle tyre fitting agent, with MOTs, service and repair work also offered.

New owner Martin Tarrant bought the business in 2018, keeping on its team of dedicated and expert staff. Martin brings with him a knowledge of the motorcycle industry, having started off as an apprentice many years ago at a well-known Suzuki and Triumph main dealer and then moving into the sales world where his passion for all things 'motorcycle' has driven him to keep Bike Treads on the map as one of Wiltshire's leading independent motorcycle centres. It now operates as a large dedicated motorcycle service centre with four trained mechanics offering the same workshop facilities as before but now offering brands such as Royal Enfield, Benelli, Lambretta, Royal Alloy, Sym and Keeway from its new dedicated showroom and workshop premises on Kennedy Drive, Eldene.

As with all businesses, Bike Treads has had to adapt to multiple changes in our current world with the arrival of the Covid-19, changing environmental laws and a gradual decline in the motorcycling community, with it becoming a form of transport seemingly reserved for only casual leisure usage, or so we thought! More recently with the need for social distancing and a noted decline in the desire to use public transport we have benefited from an increase in sales from our learner ranges up to our top sellers in the Royal Enfield range.
