POWER supplier Scottish and Southern Electricity has issued a warning of possible power cuts this weekend as Storm Dennis sweeps across the Wiltshire area.

The company said: “Storm Dennis will bring wind gusts of up to 70mph through Saturday and Sunday.

“If you experience a loss of power and require support, you can call 0800 072 7282.”

The weather forecast for Saturday is a mainly cloudy and blustery day with outbreaks of heavy rain spreading from the west from 11am onwards.

Rain will ease in the evening but there will be strong and gusty south-westerly winds.

Sunday will be a windy day with increasing sunny spells throughout the day, but there will be a few showers in the afternoon.

Monday is looking like a fine day with plenty of sunshine along with only a few patches of cloud. However it will continue breezy.

Tuesday will turn unsettled with wet and windy conditions.

No flood warnings are in force but drivers should expect windy and wet conditions on the roads.
