Two people have been arrested following a drugs warrant in Trowbridge on Wednesday (October 21)

Officers from Operation Fortitude – Wiltshire Police's new proactive response unit – executed a warrant at an address in Broad Street around 4pm.

On entering, two men were detained and a search of the building was conducted. A large amount of class A drugs and cash were discovered.

Two men, a man in his 20s and a man in his 50s, were arrested on suspicion of being concerned in the supply of class A drugs. They were taken to Melksham custody for questioning and have since been released while enquiries continue.

Det Sgt Geoff Smith said: “This was a positive warrant carried out by officers from Operation Fortitude, which led to the arrest of two individuals and a seizure of a large quantity of suspected class A drugs and cash. Additionally our officers have taken thousands of pounds worth of designer clothing, sunglasses and trainers, all of which are all believed to be proceeds of crime.

“We’d continue to urge residents who suspect illegal drug activity in their neighbourhood to report their concerns to police so action can be taken.”
