Cinemas in Wiltshire will play host to a special screening of War Horse on Remembrance Sunday.
The National Trust Live will broadcast the recording, inspired by the Michael Morpurgo novel, at cinemas across the UK.
War Horse tells the story of a young boy called Albert and his horse Joey, set against the backdrop of the First World War. The movie adaptation of War Horse β famously used the Wiltshire village of Castle Combe as a backdrop to scenes in the film.
Reel Cinema, in Chippenham, and the Merlin Theatre, in Frome, are among the cinemas showing the National Trust Live event. The screening will take place at 6.30pm on November 11 at both locations.
Lisa Burger, joint chief executive of the National Theatre, said: βAt a time when live performance is scarce and much missed due to the ongoing impact of Covid-19, we aim to continue to bring the best of British theatre to cinema audiences around the country.β
