New cafe opens

Marlborough: Two of Marlborough's independent cafes have closed.

WJ's and Movida, both on Hughenden Yard have called it a day.

But a new cafe has opened on the site of Movida.

The restaurant owners are expanding their Eliane brand from Hungerford to Marlborough and opened last week. They also have a restaurant in Sunningdale.

"It is going really, really well considering we only had a soft launch," said owner Rafia Willmott.

"I thought, well, Marlborough is pretty convenient for me as I live in Hungerford so I thought let's have a go."

She said her healthy food menu grew after the shock news of her husband, John, being diagnosed with very serious bowel cancer in 2010, Rafia set about changing the diet of her entire family. They radically changed the way that John ate. John finally came through and now, thankfully has a clean bill of health once more.

Eliane is open from 8 am to 5pm seven days a week.

Open again

Pewsey: The Woodbridge Inn at North Newton is now under new management and will be re-opening this Friday, October 2 at 6pm.
