A BUSINESS based in Royal Wootton Bassett has thrown its support behind a therapy project that helps people with sessions in nature.

Regen Medical staff spend their days distributing medical supplies to hospitals around the country and supplying surgeons with all the tools they need to safely and successfully operate on patients.

But now the company has lent its backing to another way of healing - the Growing4All horticultural project run by Mencap West Berkshire.

The therapy scheme is set in a commercial-sized greenhouse and a quiet garden area where participants can enjoy a variety of different nature-based activities including vegetable growing, flower arranging and woodwork.

The project uses gardening to prompt positive changes for adults with a learning disability and aims to improve their work and social skills, raise self-esteem and confidence as well as offering greater socialising opportunities to those involved.

Like many good causes, the project has faced new challenges because of the pandemic, so Regen Medical offered to help out by sending hundreds of face shields to the scheme to help ensure that it can continue its valuable work.

A spokesman said: "It is hoped that the provision of face shields will help ensure that Growing4All can continue their valuable work in a safe manner during the Covid-19 pandemic.

"When looking to offer a donation of PPE to a charity in the area, Growing4All was nominated by one of our employees, Peter Cuthbert.

"He has a personal connection with the project and has witnessed first-hand the enormous benefit that the project can provide."

Amy Bosley of Growing4All said: “We really appreciate the donation of the face masks because it will help us to keep the project running during this tough time while ensuring everyone’s safety.”
