A Wiltshire charity is celebrating its biggest ever summer programme for disadvantaged local young people.

Around 35 people took part in the 14 free outdoor activities during the summer holidays, including rock climbing and zip wiring, put on by Heals of Malmesbury.

Chair of trustees Gavin Grant said: "Organising the Heals summer programme is always a challenge.

"But putting together and organising a Covid-19 safe programme for a large number of disadvantaged young people at very short notice ‎has been our greatest challenge ever, including finding the money to fund the various activities.

"We are delighted so many young people and their families have benefited from our work”

The August bank holiday weekend saw another Heals landmark with more than 4,500 free meals being delivered since lockdown thanks to the emergency Meals on Wheels programme which came to a close when schools returned.
