POLICE have issued an ef-fit of a man they want to speak too about an incident in which a woman was attacked with a crowbar.

Mamta Mathur and her two children were at their home in Cromwell Road, Basingstoke, on August 28 when two men armed with weapons entered the property.

A third man is believed to have been waiting outside for them in a vehicle.

Mamta, 44, below, said she looked up to see a man standing in front of her, wearing all black and carrying an iron rod and spray can.

Daily Echo:

She said: “In that millisecond I had so many thoughts. I thought what if he’s here to harm me or my teenage daughters or my husband.”

The brave mother-of-three said her “motherly instincts” kicked in and she knew she needed to protect her family, so she threw some papers she was holding in the intruder’s face and screamed, which shocked him into taking a step back.

“I saw my family in danger, my kids were in danger,."

A police spokesman said: "It is believed the men then left the address and got into a nearby white car before leaving the area.

"Officers investigating the incident are keen to identify the man in this e-fit and speak with him in connection with their enquiries.

"Do you recognise him?"
