A new community garden was opened in Trowbridge park this week.

Trowbridge mayor, Cllr Peter Fuller was the guest of honour and gave an impassion speech to open the gardens while people looked on from the balconies of St. George’s Works.

The mayor was support by Cllr Stewart Palmen, Cllr Andrew Bryant and Cllr Diana King

The landscaping was co-funded by the developer of St. George’s Works and provides flower beds, pathways and seating, including spaces allocated for wheelchair users.

Cllr Fuller referred to how Trowbridge Town Council continues to be forward looking to benefit the Wiltshire’s county town and how a large section of the landscaped area had been reclaimed.

Cllr Andrew Bryant said: “The councillors are very appreciative of the tireless efforts of the grounds people in completing the landscaping within such a short timescale. The gardens are a marvellous addition to what is already a fantastic asset for Trowbridge.

“The response from park users has already been extremely positive so I am confident it is going to be well used and enjoyed for generations to come.”
