Armed police are being deployed to more incidents in Wiltshire but down from a decade prior, figures reveal.
Home Office data shows Wiltshire Police conducted 104 armed operations in the year to March.
This was up 1 per cent from 2018-19, when there were 103 firearms operations, but down 32 per cent compared to a decade ago
Meanwhile, the number of armed officers in the force rose from 53 to 54 over the period.
A decade earlier, there were 69 armed officers in Wiltshire's ranks.
However across England and Wales, where the number of firearms officers fell 2 per cent to 6,518 by March 31, ending a three-year upward trend.
