A man will stand trial later this year over claims he hit another over the head with a hockey stick with such force the alleged victim may lose his sight in one eye.
Appearing before Swindon Crown Court on Friday morning, William Jeffcoat, 29, of Oxford Street, Aldbourne, pleaded not guilty to wounding with intent, but admitted a lesser charge of causing grievous bodily harm and theft of a £20 bottle of wine.
He is said to have gone to The Bell pub in Ramsbury on November 29 last year armed with a hockey stick and attacked two men.
He was bailed for the trial at Swindon Crown Court on October 13.
