CHRIS MOYLAN, who recently achieved her first hole in one, maintained her fine form by winning the MacMillan Spoon ladies’ charity event on July 23 at Cirencester Golf Club with 39 points.

Sheila Lowbridge was runner-up in the field of 29 with 38 points and third was Jae Berens on 37 points.

Two ladies got birdie twos: Irena Windslow and Helene Bonne.

The following day Sam Mitchell scored 41 points to come fourth in professional Ed Goodwin’s daily stableford competition, while, on the previous Tuesday, Jess Brown came fifth in Ed’s daily comp with 38 points.

On Friday evening, a small group of friends got together for a fun Texas Scramble followed by drinks and a presentation in the clubhouse to celebrate Jess Brown shortly going off to the USA.

Jess is taking up a scholarship at Wingate University in North Carolina to study sport and to play golf.

Erika Brooke (captain) presented Jess with a leaving gift on behalf of the ladies’ section.

Emma Brereton and Ali Kelly also gave her leaving gifts from those who played that evening, all with a British Bulldog theme, as that is the mascot of her new university.

Good luck Jess, we will all be keenly following your progress.
