The majority of restaurants and cafes at the Brunel Shopping Centre will be taking part in the Government’s Eat Out to Help Out scheme.
The campaign, which starts today, offers customers 50 per cent off their meal, excluding alcoholic drinks, up to the value of £10.
At the Brunel, restaurants based in The Crossing are taking part as well as Boswells, McDonald’s and Triple Two Coffee.
Prakash Guna, owner of Broccoli Pizza and Pasta, is urging Swindon people to support their local independent businesses.
He said: “I think this is a good scheme and it has the potential to help food businesses recover from this very challenging situation.
“I am confident that our customers will be safe. We know that The Brunel are rigorous in their cleaning regimes and regularly clean tables and chairs between customers.
“It’s more common for food businesses to do home deliveries so we have more competition.
“My message is please support us and help us survive by shopping locally.”
