Kemble/Somerford Keynes/Poole Keynes News by Pat Ayres

KEMBLE and District Royal British Legion and the Women’s Section will be hosting a small gathering at the war memorial in Kemble at 11am on August 15, to acknowledge VJ75.

The announcement follows the government’s health guidance and information sent from RBL headquarters.

Further details will be cascaded after a meeting tonight (July 30) of the chairman of the branches.

A MORNING prayer service will be held in All Saints Kemble this Sunday at 11am.

The church wardens have sent a draft notice to the members of the parochial church council for approval re the wearing of face masks etc to the service.

When agreed a poster will be placed on the various notice boards in the village.

Wardens Mark and Stephen say this is unsettling to everyone and it will take time for church congregations to adapt and get used to the new way of operating until we eventually get back to ‘normal’, but that could take a long time, unfortunately.

If you would like to attend the service this Sunday remember that restrictive numbers are in place so please let Mark know in advance. Email durlstonsk@aol.com.

FOR those that are suffering and/or caring for someone with eating disorders, the local facilitator of the Cirencester Eating Disorder support group is offering confidential support.

If you want to email her she can signpost you to various online zoom meetings.

Pat hopes that it won’t be long before she can arrange for the monthly meetings to resume again in a safe environment.
