Cirencester Carnival which was last held in 1997 ran for just over a century, having been formed around 1898 form the Friendly Societies annual church parade.
It changed significantly over time to reflect social mores.
Some of the themes would no longer be acceptable, but at the time, the carnival was loved and looked forward to every July by Cirencester folk.
