HEARTBROKEN dad Chris Okun has completed a fundraising cycle ride in memory of his baby son.
Three-month-old Franklin died last month despite the best efforts of Wiltshire Air Ambulance and Bristol Royal Infirmary.
He died after he suddenly stopped breathing. Now dad Chris and friend Sinead Deedigan have raised £3,000 to split between the helicopter charity and the hospital.
On Friday Chris cycled the 42 miles from the Calne home he shares with his wife Katelyn to the Bristol hospital stopping at the air ambulance’s base in Semington on the way. Sinead raised money by doing a 30 day fitness challenge.
Chris said: “On the 31st of May we got told our beautiful baby boy had stopped breathing. The Wiltshire Air Ambulance arrived and managed to get a heartbeat.
“Franklin was then take to the PICU ward at the BRI where they did their best for three days. If it wasn‘t for the Wiltshire Air Ambulance and the amazing staff at the BRI we would not have had the chance to say goodbye.”
