THE following planning applications have been decided by Wiltshire Council recently.

Chippenham: Mr Attwater of 7 Barton Buildings, Bath submitted a planning application to build an extension at 9 London Road, Chippenham to provide two residential flats together with access road and parking for two vehicles. The application has been approved.

Pewsham: Mr Ponting of 17 Hatherell Road has been permitted to build a bedroom over his existing garage with a dormer window, as well as a garage conversion and a single-storey rear lean-to extension.

Colerne: Mr Gooding of Oak Farm, Rode Hill, has been granted permission to build a detached garage with a farm office above.

Corsham: Kingsdown Golf Club has been granted planning permission for a new buggy extension on the existing greenkeeper's building.

Devizes: A eucalyptus tree is due to be cut down at Southbroom House, London Road, following an application by Mr Ferris of Chruch House, Crane Street in Salisbury.

Devizes: Four buildings used for sales and warehousing at Garden Trading Estate, Jewson Limited in London Road are set to be demolished to facilitate new, single-storey portal framed buildings. Additionally, the planning permission includes the building of new yard racking to the western boundaries and other associated yard works.

Devizes: There will be a new agricultural barn at Manor Farm, Lydeway following an approved planning application submitted by Mr Plank.

Box: Works to the roof of the Chapel of Rest, Box Cemetery in Bath Road, including stripping off the existing tiles and carrying out repairs to the rafters and felt will soon take place. Box Parish Council, which submitted the planning application, will then retile the roof, using salvaged tiles.

Marlborough: Mr and Mrs O Jarratt have been refused permission in principle for the removal of existing kennel buildings and the construction of a new dwelling at Foxhill House in Clench Common. The planning officer in their report deemed that the proposed dwelling was in an ‘unsuitable location, where the principle of new residential development is considered unacceptable unless for certain excepted purposes’ due to the rural setting.

Marlborough: Mr Wheatley of Cuckoo’s Corner in Urchfont is to replace all eight windows on the front elevation of 8-9 Oxford Street, Marlborough with painted wooden double glazed units.

Marlborough: An application by Mrs Cunnane of 70 High Street to cut down an apple tree has been with no objections.

Wootton Rivers: Planning permission has been given to Mr and Mrs Woodhead to construct a new cartshed, following partial demolition of existing garage outbuilding at Wootton House, Cuckoos Knob.

Burbage: Conifers and holly trees are due to be cut down after an application by Mr Cox of The Meads, 130 High Street was met with no objections.

East Grafton: Plans submitted by Mr Lemon to build 15 dwellings with access onto A338, the formation of bus stop layby on A338, parking and associated landscaping with a change of use of agricultural land to residential garden land on land opposite Hungerford Road have been refused.

Melksham: An application was submitted by Mr and Mrs Dalton of 92 Berryfield Park to build a single-storey side extension on their property. This application has been approved.

Kington St Michael: Mr and Mrs Philips of The Coach House have been given permission for internal and external alterations to the listed building. These works include altering the floor finishes, adding new roof lights, putting in a new patio door against an existing wall, internal wall changes, as well as adding a flue to be used with a proposed log burner.

Sutton Veny: Mr Everitt has been granted planning permission for the construction of a two-storey extension and to modify the layout of the drive at 11A Bests Lane.

Trowbridge: An existing property at 36 Upper Studley is to be demolished and will be replaced with eight bungalows together with car parking and communal gardens by Sanctuary Housing.

Calne: Mr and Mrs Mitchell of 38 The Pippin have been given permission to undertake a loft conversion including the addition of dormer windows at the property.
