A large number of tools have were stolen from a van parked in Trowbridge during the early hours of today.

Police are appealing for information to the theft in which tools worth between £2,000 and £3,000 that happened in Frome Road.

A police spokesman said: "A Ford Transit van parked in Frome Road was broken into and tools to the value of £2,000 to £3,000 were stolen including the following: Dewalt 240w compact saw; Paslode nail gun in an orange case; Makita 240v disc cutter; Milwaukee 18v Torch ; Milwaukee circular saw; Milwaukee reciprocating saw

"A number of the tool boxes were located by a hedge nearby however the tools were not inside.

"Officers have conducted house to house enquiries and would be interested in hearing from anyone who saw or heard any suspicious activity in the area during the early hours of this morning.
