A MAN denies sexually assault a woman in Salisbury.
Appearing before Swindon Magistrates’ Court on Saturday morning via video link from Melksham police station, Anthony Bullman, 25, of no fixed address, pleaded not guilty to allegation he touched a woman sexually without her consent on Friday, July 10.
Prosecutor Ben Worthington said it was the Crown’s case Bullman had touched the woman, who is known to him, as she was sleeping before pinning her down, biting and sucking the sides of her neck and touching her body.
The defendant denies the allegations.
No application was made for bail by his solicitor, Terry McCarthy, and Bullman was remanded in custody. He is due before the crown court for a plea and trial preparation hearing on August 14.
Chairman of the bench Amanda Lee said the magistrates felt the case was too serious to be dealt with at the lower court and needed to be heard at the crown court.
