Volunteers have poured forward to help their local communities during lockdown.

Now this type of energy and acquired skills are urgently needed by groups of young people in both the North and South Cotswolds.

Scouts are seeking district commissioners and team members both male and female to work with other adults and young people.

Management, supervision and motivational skills will help both Scouts and their adult helpers considerably.

Abseiling to zorbing, camping, cooking and traditional scouting skills are all available to young people, with participation rather than reaching set standards being the key approach.

Spokesperson for the North Cotswolds Area Ricky Campbell, said: “Scouting experience is not necessary, but management and motivational skills would help us all considerably.

“On the ground we are very good when working with children and teenagers.

“What we seek are management skills from volunteers, to keep the teams heading in the right direction.

“The rewards and satisfaction you obtain through helping both scouts and your communities are huge.”
