A FIRE in a village near Bicester was left burning for days.
Oxfordshire Fire and Rescue Service posted pictures yesterday of a crew from Bicester putting out the fire in Arncott.
The service warned: "Fires in the open can burn for a long time and contain a lot of heat, and aren’t always fully out.
"Fires should always be under supervision, unlike this one left burning for days in Arncott and had to be extinguished by a crew from Bicester, assisted by the Defence Fire & Rescue Service."
It added: "If a bonfire or smoke is affecting you, it is mainly an environmental health issue, but we will deal with unattended fires if they pose a threat (we can’t solve a simple nuisance unfortunately)."
