THE T&A is launching a competition that could help ease the pressure on you as the world becomes that little bit more normal again.

It has been a period of great change right across Bradford, the country and the world over the first half of the year thanks to the coronavirus crisis.

These unprecedented times has seen it all happening.

Communities have come together to celebrate and support the NHS in the form of the weekly "Clap for the NHS" events, or individuals and schools making their own personal protective equipment (PPE) for staff in hospitals and care homes.

We've had children learning from home and teachers still heading into work every day to support vulnerable pupils and students of key workers.

The sports we know and love disappeared for a while, before returning behind closed doors in a way we've never witnessed them before.

Even the most constant of constants has had to adapt during the pandemic - television.

Ever-present stalwarts, such as Coronation Street, had to switch from double episodes every other night to giving avid fans just a single helping instead, to ensure they didn't run out of footage to show people, with filming at a standstill.

But one thing that has remained constant are bills.

Fear not though, because we are giving you the fantastic opportunity to have your household bills paid for the next three months.

Can you imagine the relief of not having to worry about how you’re going to pay for your family’s supermarket shopping, your electricity, gas and Council Tax for the next 12 weeks months?

This prize will mean you can forget about the worries of your household expenditure and enjoy life as the Government's lockdown eases

But how can I enter, I hear you cry.

Well, it could not be simpler.

From Monday, July 6, we will publish a token in each edition of the T&A.

So, by the end of the normal working week, there will have been five tokens available to you in total.

We'll then print an entry form, which you'll need to attach four tokens to in order to qualify.

Each day's token will have a different number on it - so you can't just buy four papers on the Monday and use those tokens.

The entry form also has a question on it, which you'll need to get right in order to be in with a chance of bagging the prize.

Group Editor, Nigel Burton, said: "Times are hard at the moment and the future is uncertain.

"Not having to pay their household bills for the next three months will come as a huge relief for the lucky winner of our competition.

"Imagine not having the worry of a big bill landing on the doormat (or arriving in your inbox) or the stress of rising supermarket prices.

"To be in with a chance all you have to do is collect the tokens printed in the paper, fill in the form and send off your entry.

"Good luck to everyone who takes part."

Newspaper Sales Manager at the T&A, Joanne Ellerton, echoed Mr Burton's sentiment.

She said: “We are delighted to be able to offer one of our readers the chance to win this cash prize, in such uncertain times having the pressure of your household bills taken away is something I’m sure we would all welcome.

“We hope all our readers get involved and enter the competition, you have to be in it to win! Good luck to all those who enter.”
