A TEENAGER was dragged from her bike by a gang and attacked as she lay on the floor.

The 19-year-old woman was riding along the Black Path in Widnes, which runs between Birchfield Road and Prescot Road, at around 4.30pm on Tuesday, June 30.

As she approached a group of four unknown females, one of them – who had her hair tied up and was on a black bicycle with white writing – dragged her off her bike.

Another member of the group, who had a large build and her hair down and was on foot, assaulted the victim while she was lying on the ground.

The gang – who were all white, aged between 17 and 22 and wearing dark tracksuits – then fled in an unknown direction.

Police say the teen was taken to hospital in an ambulance but has since been discharged after suffering minor injuries during the incident.

Cheshire Police’s enquiries into the incident are ‘ongoing’, and officers have appealed for information from members of the public.

Both of the other two women are described as having been on foot and had their hair tied up.

Police constable Andy Collict said: “Thankfully the victim only sustained minor injuries as a result of this incident.

“However, the assault has understandably left her extremely shaken up.

“I would like to reassure residents that this is believed to be an isolated incident, and we are doing everything we can to establish who assaulted the victim and make them face the consequences of their actions.

“Enquiries are ongoing, and as part of our investigation we want to speak to anyone who was in the area and believes they may have seen the group of four females – either before or after the victim was assaulted.

“We also want to hear from anyone who thinks they may know who the females are or have CCTV or dashcam footage of them.”

Anyone with is urged to contact Cheshire Police on 101, quoting incident number IML743226, or to call Crimestoppers anonymously on 0800 555 111.
