Plates stolen

BETWEEN June 20-22 thieves stole number plates from a vehicle parked in a layby at Ashton Common, Steeple Ashton.

Washing line taken

A THIEF stole a rotary washing line from a garden at The Crays, Melksham, on June 24.

Drunken exposure

A DRUNKEN MAN exposed himself in Bath Road, Melksham, at 4.45pm on June 26. A suspect has since been identified. Enquiries are ongoing. There is no ongoing risk to public safety.

Vehicle seized

A VEHICLE was seized and the driver reported for no car insurance after he was stop-checked in Churchill Avenue, Melksham, on June 27.

No insurance

A MAN in his 20s from Melksham was released under police investigation after officers stop-checked a vehicle in Lancaster Road, Bowerhill, at 1.53am on June 28 and found the driver had no insurance. He also failed a drug swipe test. The man was arrested on suspicion of driving while over the prescribed drug limit and no insurance. His vehicle was also seized.

Drugs caution

A MAN in his 20s from Melksham was given a caution for possession of cannabis and remanded to court for warrant offences. The man, who was wanted by police, was detained and searched in Old Broughton Road, Melksham, at 3.02pm on June 28.

Street warning

A MAN in his 20s was given a cannabis street warning after being found in possession of a small amount of cannabis during a routine vehicle stop check on the A361 in Seend at 6.24pm on June 28.

Court appearance

JOSHUA May, 25, from Arnold’s Mead, Corsham, has been bailed to appear before Salisbury magistrates on August 7 to face a drink-driving charge. Following a tip-off, he was found to be in control of a car in a car park in Roundpond, Melksham, at 8.51pm on June 28. The driver failed a roadside breath test and was arrested.
