Katherine Jenkins OBE has agreed to perform a private virtual gig to raise funds for Wiltshire-based military charity, The British Forces Foundation (BFF).

The 20-minute personalised performance by the world-famous mezzo-soprano is the star lot in a fundraising online auction for the morale-boosting charity.

Katherine, a trustee of the charity, will be beamed into the winning bidder’s home via Skype or FaceTime for the exclusive show.

All proceeds from the auction, which started on June 1 and runs for two weeks, will go to support the BFF which, like many charities during the COVID 19 crisis, has seen fundraising events cancelled and income drop. It has hit particularly hard as the BFF had special plans this year to celebrate its 21st anniversary.

Since 1999 the BFF has been boosting the morale of servicemen and women serving on the frontline with big-name stars Katherine Jenkins, Ed Sheeran and James Blunt in places like Afghanistan, Iraq, Kosovo and the Falklands.

The charity has always been about bringing the British public and their Armed Services closer together – articulating the support and appreciation of the work they do and the sacrifices they are willing to make.
