Almost 25,000 homes were left without power in the early hours of this morning.
Scottish and Southern Electricity, which powers Swindon's homes, confirmed the outage at 5.12am this morning caused by a fault on the borough’s high-voltage network.
Power was restored at 5.18am, being down for six minutes, and affected 24,853 homes.
A statement from the company said: "Scottish and Southern Electricity Networks was alerted to a fault on their Swindon high voltage network at 5:12am this morning, Monday 1 June.
"The fault affected the power supplies of 24,853 customers, all within the Swindon area, and their power was restored six minutes later at 5:18am.
"SSEN apologises for any inconvenience this temporary loss of power may have caused its customers."
