The Wiltshire Police helicopter was deployed this morning in the hunt for an erratic biker.
Reports of a yellow off-road motorbike being ridden illegally on the road were made at around 11am.
The helicopter was used to help officers on the ground in Akers Way and Moredon.
But the search was unsuccessful and the biker wasn't found. The police added enquiries were ongoing.
A spokesman for Wiltshire Police said: "At just after 11am today we were alerted to reports of a yellow off-road motorbike riding erratically and illegally on local roads in the area.
"The police helicopter was deployed to help officers look for the bike and rider in the Akers Way/Moredon area. However, our search was unsuccessful. Our enquiries in to this are continuing.
"If anyone witnessed the bike in this area or has more information about this, please contact us on 101."
