Police were called to Great Western Hospital following a disorder involving a patient.
No arrests have been made.
A Wiltshire Police spokesman said: "At around 11.40am today we received a report of a disorder involving a patient at Great Western Hospital, in Swindon.
"Officers attended and spoke to staff and the patient, but the issue was under control. Nobody has been arrested."
The force has not said which ward the officers were called to.
