A PEWSEY Mum’s hobby of painting pebbles has taken off in lockdown with locals on their daily walks.
Now pebble snakes are forming as others join in adding on their own creations. Nicci Young started painting pebbles two years ago when she had her baby boy, and she carried on painting them and placing them around the village for people to admire.
“Since lockdown it seems to have really taken off,” she said. “There are two snakes getting longer and longer. One is in the Scotchel nature reserve, and the other by the children’s playground near the railway.”
One of the snakes now has 28 pebbles as the activity gathers pace and artists are posting their creations on social media.
“Someone suggested we donate these to the Pewsey Heritage Centre as part of the town’s life during lockdown,” she added.
“It’s lovely to know these are making people smile. One woman whose husband has dementia says he always smiles when he sees them.”
