A man accused of slicing a police officer’s hand with a razor blade is due before Swindon Crown Court next week.
Lewis Foster, 25, of Horton, Devizes, faces charges of assault causing actual bodily harm, possession of a blade, failing to provide a specimen of breath and two counts of assaulting an emergency worker.
He has also been charged with an aggravated burglary of a petrol station.
It follows an incident on Tuesday, April 14, when police were called to Avebury at around 10pm after reports a man had tried to jump in front of a minibus.
The young man is said to have pulled a razor blade from his pocket and, when he was being detained, cut a PC Steele in the hand.
The case was before Judge Peter Crabtree on Friday afternoon.
Foster was not present at the hearing and was represented in his absence by his solicitor, Matthew Harbinson.
No pleas were taken and the judge adjourned the case to the first week of June.
