MULTIPLE police forces joined together to help a 12-year-old boy deliver personal protective equipment to his grandmother.

They travelled from Northampton to Royal Wootton Bassett to help Cameron Douglas to protect his grandmother Phillis, 89, from Covid-19.

Northamptonshire Police did a Facebook Live to answer questions young people had about the virus and share any worries.

This is when Cameron mentioned he had spent all of his pocket money on a 3D printer and wanted to know whether he could ask an adult to transport his homemade PPE.

Officers from the force and Wiltshire Police said they could take it to her at Bassett House Care Home.

Cameron Douglas said: "I was really happy and surprised that they would go that far to help me.

"Thank you so much to all of the police officers who helped me."

His grandmother was very grateful and proud of her grandson.

Sergeant James Rodrigues from Wiltshire Police, said: "It was a real honour to be able to complete the final leg of the journey and ensure the safe delivery of these masks to the care home.

"The actions of this young boy have been selfless and extremely kind – he hasn’t seen the lockdown as a restriction and instead has thought outside the box and done everything he could to make face masks for his gran and her friends at the care home."
