AT the start of lockdown, Burbage seven-year-old Anya Rodgers decided she wanted to virtually visit her friends and family as she knew she would miss them.
So, the Rodgers family started to cycle 640km to ‘see’ her grandparents, older sisters and friends - and raise money at the same time.
Mum Julie, dad Grant and little sister Ember, two, used their daily cycling exercise to keep tabs on the kilometers and four weeks later, Anya ‘virtually’ arrived at her grand parents’ house 152 km away in Stourbridge.
Her final destination is her aunt, uncle and cousins in Torquay.
At the end of week six, she has reached 225 miles and has raised £533.
“It’s really cool because I get to virtually visit my family,” said Burbage Primary School pupil Anya.
“It makes me feel happy because if it’s cold, Daddy makes me a hot chocolate to warm up!
