MORE than 200 animals have been rescued by the RSPCA in Wiltshire since lockdown began.
In the UK it has dealt with more than 21,000 animal incidents - and 211 of those have been in Wiltshire.
The charity has released the figures as part of its emergency appeal, launched to keep its rescue teams out on the road during the coronavirus crisis and continuing to rescue animals most in need.
This tiny tawny owl (pictured), who was found by a member of the public in Corsham, is one of the many given a helping hand by the animal welfare charity during the crisis in the county in recent days.
RSPCA Inspector Steph Daly, who rescued the Corsham owlet, also found herself rushing to the rescue of a tiny fox cub alone in Swindon, and a badger cub who followed a member of the public and their dog during the day in Calne. All three were taken to North Wiltshire RSPCA Oak & Furrows where they will receive the care they need before release back into the wild.
